Wakeup Call
For the last week and a half, God has been giving me wakeup calls. I would be in the middle of a dream, and suddenly a voice would call my name, and I would feel like I was being shaken. Then I would look at the clock and see that it was either exactly 6 or exactly 7. At least that's how it happened the first few nights. Since then I've just been waking up around those times. I didn't ask God to do this, but I asked for help in keeping to my new resolutions which started at the beginning of this Hebrew month (which is when the wakeup calls started).
The only problem is that so many times I have simply gone straight back to sleep, or got up, gone the the toilet and then gone straight back to bed. Every problem I've had this semester I can trace back to not getting up in time.
This morning I prayed and thanked God that he had been helping me so dramatically lately, especially with waking me up in the morning. I also apologised and asked for forgiveness for not getting up when he woke me up. Then it dawned on me.... I was still in bed.

So, in other words, you thought you'd woken up and gotten out of bed, but you were actually dreaming?
No, that would be what has been called a Fantasy Trap. Where you try to do something (like go to the toilet) in a half daydream half dream state and then realise you are still asleep, and then you wake up and try again, only to realise that you're still asleep.
No, I was very much awake when I went to the toilet. I was also very much awake when I prayed asking for forgiveness for not getting out of bed right away. But then I realised that while I was praying that, I was still lying in bed (not asleep).
